Healthy Works has partnered with several Family Self-Sufficiency agencies to offer free 15-minute, one-hour, and/or five-class nutrition education interactive class series. These classes are consistent with USDA-approved nutrition education curricula, and their goal is to improve the likelihood that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)-eligible individuals will make healthy choices within a limited budget and choose active lifestyles consistent with the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans and MyPlate.
The Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention (NEOP) Eat Well to Live Well nutrition education class series is offered at various locations throughout the County. Class activities include food demonstrations, taste testing, and a short physical activity component. Curricula
topics include healthy foods and beverages, nutrition label basics, fast food, healthy meal planning, grocery shopping and cooking, and more.
